As a traveling dance, the footwork for the foxtrot is a pattern of long, slow steps and short, quick steps. A long step lasts two beats of music and a short step lasts one beat. The Foxtrot can be danced to Big Band music, but also to more contemporary music - such as that of Michael Bublé.
